What is the difference between an STNA and a CNA? STNA and CNA are the same thing?
It is called Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in some states but here in Ohio it is called STNA.
How many hours is a class?
75 total hours, 59 classroom hours, and 16 clinical hours.
How long are the classes?
12 days for morning class and 14 days for evening class.
What skills will I learn in class?
How to provide care for the elderly and the ill, learning and applying job safety and infection control, bathing, grooming, feeding, ambulating residents, and dressing.
How many students are in a class?
We average 10 to 20 students.
Do I need a uniform for class?
Yes.
Is the textbook/uniform included in the tuition?
Yes.
Do I need to have a High School Diploma or GED to take this class?
No.
Do I need to have a background check before taking this class?
No, there is no background check required to take the class.
Does your program conduct clinicals?
Yes, we do have three nursing homes for the clinical site.

Do you assist with the state testing?
Yes, we offer unlimited free reviews for the skills, free sample state written tests on computers, and unlimited access to the facility to practice your skills and written exams. As a result of our thoroughness, BHA has the highest pass rate in the state of Ohio.
Do you offer financial aid?
Yes, we offer financial through Job and Family Services and all county and local offices that provide assistance to individuals looking to obtain or advance in a career.
What jobs could I get by being certified as an STNA?
Home healthcare, work in hospitals, nursing homes, or physician’s offices.
On average, what do STNAs get paid?
Between $10.00 to $15.00 per hour.
What if I let my STNA registration expire?
You will have to take the class over again.
